This course is ideal for people who like to assist others and those who would like to work in a rewarding field where they are able to make a difference.
This qualification replaces CHC30212 Aged Care, CHC30312 Home & Community Care and CHC30408 Disability.
This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community care and/or residential facilities who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who require support due to ageing, disability or other reasons.
To complete this qualification, students must complete at least 120 hours of work experience in a residential aged care facility to allow all competencies to be assessed on-the-job.
There is a need for a Federal Police Criminal Record check in all aged care and disability organisations and for all roles. The College recommends all prospective students obtain a Police Record Check prior to commencement to ensure any industry visits can be undertaken and access to workplaces approved.
